    Commercial Window Film Procurement

Build a bid scope that can be compared, reviewed and delivered. Window Tint DC connects DC-area commercial buyers with Delaware-based Shore Tint & More, a 3M Authorized Window Film Dealer.

    What belongs in your scope

Use this checklist to identify what is ready and what still needs review before requesting a project-specific bid package.

0 of 7 scope topics reviewed

    1. Building location, buyer contact, procurement route, proposed bid date and required vendor qualifications.

    2. Solar/glare, visual privacy, fragment retention, appearance or a documented assembly-performance requirement. Identify priorities where objectives compete.

    3. Opening IDs, dimensions or preliminary quantities, elevations, glass type, coatings, insulated/laminated assemblies, frame condition and unknowns needing field review.

    4. Existing glazing warranty concerns, thermal-stress review, manufacturer guidance, visual samples and the person responsible for approval.

    5. Where applicable: specified test method, complete tested glass/frame/film/attachment configuration and review responsibilities. Thickness alone is not a rating.

    6. Tenant hours, access/escorts, lifts, glass cleaning, protection, work-zone separation, phased areas and the proposed installation window.

    7. Request product data, attachment details where needed, W-9, project-specific COI, written exclusions, manufacturer warranty, workmanship terms and care instructions.

    Product selection and documentation

Request the exact manufacturer, product series, performance data on comparable glass, compatibility guidance and applicable warranty conditions. Shore’s 3M dealer designation does not mean every generic film category or every project is certified by 3M.

    Installation and acceptance

Ask which workmanship coverage is included in the written agreement, who performs final acceptance, and which care or cure instructions apply. A proposed security scope must also identify the complete assembly and attachment detail where required.
